Computing

Computing at St Thomas'

A high-quality computing education equips pupils to use computational thinking and creativity to understand and change the world. Computing also ensures that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through information and communication technology – at a level suitable for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world.

We have 45 laptops and 6 ipads, which the children use as part of their computing lessons as well as across other areas of the curriculum. We use Purple Mash to deliver a relevant, engaging and up-to-date computing curriculum. Children take part in a weekly computing session, where they explore a wide range of topics and develop key skills.

Online safety is a key priority within our school. We hold regular online safety assemblies, and online safety is also embedded throughout our computing and RSHE curriculum, ensuring pupils understand how to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully.
