French at St Thomas'

Learning a new language can be fun and the earlier children start to learn a new language the better!  Learning a new language can help develop self-confidence, enrich and enhance children's mental development as well as help to improve their understanding of English.

Our French Subject Leader is Miss Beth Dicker.

What some of our children say about learning French...

Skye –"I like it because you learn a new French word every time"

"We have words around the class that help us" – Lacey

"We have challenges for when we have finished our work" – Audrey

“I like that we can learn a new language and do more work in a fun way” Jessica

“I like learning numbers in French and I like listening to music” Teddy

“I like learning new country words and counting in French” Lily

I like French because it would be boring just learning 1 language because you can always fit more in your brain!”
